Who was Brooke Russell ?
A YOUNG woman has died after a horror accident on the M8 when her surviving partner paid tribute to the “love of her life”.
Brooke Russell, 20, passed away after being taken to Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene around 8:50 p.m. on December 23 after his white Vauxhall Adam left the road about 300 meters from the bridge over the Union Canal.
Brooke’s 21-year-old partner, who was in the passenger seat, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries and released after treatment.
Investigation
The highway was closed for seven hours to allow investigation of the collision to take place.
Devastated friends and family have taken to social media to pay tribute to Brooke.
Brooke’s girlfriend posted a heartbreaking tribute that read, “I’m going to miss everything about her. I’m going to miss her warmth. Her smile. Her heart. Everything about her.
“But I know I can never get that back. Everything is just a memory.
“Brooke was all I had. She was mine. And I was hers. I’ll see you again brooke.
“Truly, I will always love you Brooke Russell.
“Always n forever beautiful.”
A distraught friend online wrote: “Goodnight Brooke, fly high with the angels, I miss you.”

Another said, “The best memories and the best laughs I’ve ever had with you. The most amazing, loving friend anyone ever wanted. Sleep well, Brooke.”
Highway Police Sgt. Iain McIntyre said: “Our thoughts go out to the family of the woman who died and our investigations continue to establish all the circumstances.
“I appeal to anyone who has been driving in the area at the time to get in touch. In particular, anyone with dashcam footage who can assist with our investigation is requested to call us.
“If you can help, please contact us via 101, quoting incident number 3156 from Thursday, December 23, 2021.”
