Team Raw defeated Team SmackDown as Lana comedically became the sole survivor. Weeks of bullying continued as Lana was made to stand off to the corner after her teammates wanted nothing to do with her. As a result, she backed into a victory in a match that squandered an opportunity to get Lana over as a babyface, let alone elevate up-and-comers like Bianca Belair.
Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown Women’s Elimination Match—The Good
After previous reports of WWE being heigh on Peyton Royce, Royce has gone nowhere fast since an ill-advised split with Billie Kaye. But at Survivor Series 2020, Royce scored the biggest pinfall victory of her career with an elimination of top star Bayley. Royce was also showcased by suplexing Bayley onto the entire field in a crowd-pleasing stunt.
Shayna Baszler’s Elimination of Ruby Riott
In a unique, somewhat realistic finish, Ruby Riott countered the Kirafuta Clutch with a rollup. With the referee distracted, however, Riott passed out form the amount of time she was in the clutch. The scene was somewhat jarring for WWE’s audience, which isn’t used to this type of finish, but it was perfect for the Shayna Baszler character.
Missed Opportunities for Bianca Belair
Bianca Belair was featured late in this match as she rallied in a 1-on-3 hole. The late flurry barely did enough to set Belair apart from her teammates after Raw took a sizable lead. After being booked to heroically break the Kirafuta clutch, Belair went on to score one fluky elimination over Shayna Baszler before getting counted out.

Gimmicky Finishes Throughout
The finishing sequence rendered this Survivor Series Elimination Match pure comedy. Not only did Bianca Belair defeat Shayna Baszler by a fluky disqualification, a double-countout led to Lana being comedically announced as the sole survivor. The finish did nothing to establish Lana as a sympathetic underdog babyface since she backed into a win after being cast away as useless and refusing to stand up for herself.
Lana Becomes the Sole Survivor
Lana played her part well as a sympathetic figure, albeit one with zero credibility, and as expected she got her comeuppance against Nia Jax after nine consecutive weeks of being put through a table. But Lana as the Sole Survivor was done in a way that made it feel like nobody won.
After the Lana character was presented as a clueless, she continued to kowtow to the demands of Team Raw, and backed into a victory because of it. There was no satisfying revenge spot where Nia Jax went through a table, the “sympathetic” Lana simply prevailed on a technicality. Like a heel.
