    Azenith was honored by the California Teachers Association with the John Swett Award in 2019 for a piece about a looming teacher strike in San Jose.

    Azenith was born and raised in the United States of America. She attended Holy Spirit School, formerly Notre Dame High School, in downtown San Jose for elementary and high school.

    Smith later graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo College with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.
