Drake White was taken to the hospital on Friday night after nearly collapsing on stage while warming up the crowd in Virginia for Scotty McCreery.

On Friday night, the singer was in the middle of a concert at Elmwood Park in Roanoke, Va., when he began to suffer symptoms.

White’s tour manager told local television station WDBJ7 that White felt light-headed, depleted energy, and could not stand.

He was diagnosed with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a brain tangle of arteries and veins that affects normal blood flow.

He’s been undergoing a series of embolization treatments to cut off blood supply to the damaged veins since then, the most recent of which took place just four days before he came dangerously near to collapsing.

Though it’s unknown whether the treatment or his health caused his near-fall, the musician had already decided it was time to disclose the details of his arduous medical journey, which began at the beginning of the year.
