Alec Baldwin is contining to claim he has no responsibility for the fatal shooting on the set of his film “Rust” this fall, after the family of Halyna Hutchins filed a lawsuit against him.

TMZ obtaineed arbitration documents filed by Baldwin’s lawyers, reportedly arguing that Baldwin’s contract for the film production protects him from any legal responsibilities for Hutchins’ death this October. Baldwin was prepping for a scene in on the film’s Santa Fe set when his prop gun, which he reportedly believed was “cold,” fired a live round, killing Hutchins and injuring the film’s director Joel Souza.

Baldwin has consistently insisted he has no responsibility for the fatal accident, and in the new court filings, appears to suggest that Hutchins herself has some culpability.

“She directed Baldwin to hold the gun higher, to a point where it was directed toward her,” the court documents reportedly claim. “She was looking carefully at the monitor and then at Baldwin, and then back again, as she gave these instructions.”

“Baldwin asked Hutchins whether she wanted to see him cock the gun, as the script required. She responded yes,” the filing continues.

As the New York Post reports, Baldwin’s lawyer wrote that the actor and producer wanted to resume production on the film and use the eventual proceeds to support Hutchins’ family.

“He did so both with the intent of honoring Halyna’s legacy by completing her last work and of compensating Hutchins and his son from the film’s profits,” the filing reads.

According to the New York Post, the documents also claim that Baldwin and Hutchins’ husband Matthew Hutchins had a warm relationship, and that Baldwin was susprised to see Matthew Hutchins criticize him in a recent “Today” show interview in which he discussed the lawsuit against Baldwin and the production.

“The Matthew Hutchins that showed up on the Today show is someone Baldwin had never met before,” Baldwin’s lawyer wrote in the filing.
