Samantha de Bendern is a British writer, political analyst, and public speaker who focuses on Eastern Europe, Russia, and the European Union.

She is currently an Associate Fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs and a Senior Consultant for EU-Russia relations and financial crime at the Conflict Studies Research Centre.

Samantha has previously collaborated with the European Commission, NATO, and a number of international financial institutions.

She speaks Russian, Spanish, and Italian well, as well as a smattering of Czech and German.

Samantha is a UCL London graduate with a Master of Science in Politics from the London School of Economics.

She holds a master’s degree in financial management from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris and is currently enrolled in the University of East Anglia’s part-time 2021-23 Crime Fiction Creative Writing MA.
