Thursday afternoon, a drug raid led to the arrest of a Bunnell sex offender, who was found with trafficking amounts of Fentanyl, enough to kill 2,250 people.

The main subject of the investigation, identified as 60-year-old Todd Blanchard, was arrested on multiple felony drug charges.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) Special Investigations Unit (SIU), FCSO SWAT, and Sheriff Staly served a Narcotics Search Warrant at 1455 County Road 302 in Bunnell. The Search Warrant stemmed from a previous undercover operation conducted by the SIU.

When SIU and SWAT arrived to the residence, commands were given for subjects to open the door and exit. Due to the subjects not complying, SWAT utilized tactical entry tools and flash bangs to get the subject’s attention and open the door. Ultimately, the two subjects exited and were secured without further resistance.

During the trailer search, detectives seized 6.6g of crack cocaine, 4.5g of Fentanyl, various paraphernalia and $1,116 in cash.

“This was a great job by all involved to get this pervert and poison peddling dirtbag off our streets,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This dirtbag has preyed on children, has a violent and lengthy criminal history, and was trafficking poison in Flagler County. Not only was he found with deadly amounts of narcotics in his residence, he had enough Fentanyl to kill over 2,000 people. I’m glad this career criminal with over 100 charges and 55 convictions is back behind bars. Hopefully, the judge keeps him there for a long time.”

Blanchard is no stranger to law enforcement with a criminal history dating back to 1984 in Wisconsin where he was charged with Delivery of Controlled Substances. He’s been charged in Alabama for Forgery, Criminal Impersonation, Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property, Vehicle Theft, and Drug Paraphernalia.

Just in Florida since 1991, Blanchard has 20 felony convictions, 33 misdemeanor convictions, and an additional 135 charges under his belt. In 2011, Blanchard was charged in Flagler County with Lewd and Lascivious Molestation with Victim Under 16, and is a registered Sex Offender.

Blanchard was arrested for Trafficking Fentanyl, Possession of Crack Cocaine with Intent to Sell, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He’s residing at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on a $20,500 bond.
