A Premier League game is at risk of being postponed this weekend due to severe flooding as a result of Storm Babet.

Heavy rain has fallen across the country as the storm has made its way to the UK, and it has had a significant impact in the region of one Premier League ground which is set to host a fixture on Saturday.

Therefore, the match may need to be rescheduled, with more flood warnings being issued and heavy rain expected to continue in the area over the weekend.

Significant rain has fallen this week in Nottingham, leading to flooding which has forced several roads in the area to be closed down.

Forest remain optimistic the game will be unaffected and will go ahead as planned, but are monitoring conditions closely.

Their cause is helped by the fact they re-laid the pitch at the City Ground this summer and improved their drainage system.

However, if heavy rain continues to fall between now and kick-off, a postponement may be necessary.

Forest currently sit 13th in the table after picking up nine points from their opening eight games.

Their standout result of the season came on the road when they beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge last month.

Meanwhile, Luton sit just one place above the relegation zone after a difficult start following their promotion to the top flight.

They have taken just one win from their opening eight games, and suffered back-to-back defeats prior to the international break.
