A nine-year-old boy with leukemia has released a charity single to raise money for children with cancer.

Archie Branyik, who was diagnosed with T-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in February 2023, appeared on This Morning alongside his mother Natalie, today.

The schoolboy, from Bromley, London, started experiencing symptoms, including pale skin, swollen lymph glands and aching muscles, in November 2022.

Archie, who is currently undergoing maintenance therapy, has collaborated with his friends from Southborough Primary School on a charity single to raise awareness for children’s cancer charities.

Fight Song by Archie’s Army ft Southbourough is available now on iTunes, with the youngster declaring in the lyrics ‘I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me’.

Archie appeared on This Morning alongside his mother Natalie on Thursday.

Speaking to presenters Dermot O’Leary and Sian Welby, Natalie explained how her son started experiencing symptoms in November 2022.

She said that the 9-year-old had swollen lymph nodes, weight loss and a noticeable lack of energy.

After several appointments at their local clinic, Archie was diagnosed by a consultant with strep A and told to return if symptoms did not improve over the following weeks.

A month later, the duo visited their GP, who requested blood tests, which came back with a normal result.

However, the schoolboy then began to experience leg pain, back pain and headaches.

Leading up to the weeks before the diagnosis, Archie was also suffering from night sweats – then Natalie noticed he had started snoring.

‘We also noticed that night he started to snore, which is one of the symptoms you wouldn’t think was associated with leukemia,’ she explained.

‘He had large lymph nodes on his chest that were restricting his breathing that we weren’t aware of.’

‘This is just the worst nightmare for any parent,’ Sian added.

‘How were you feeling at the time, were you able to live your normal life?,’ Dermot asked.

‘It was normal, just when I was playing football my legs got really achy,’ said Archie.

Eventually, a junior doctor carried out a full body examination and observed an enlarged spline, which was causing loss of appetite since it was restricting the stomach.

The doctor then took further blood samples, which revealed Archie had T-Cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

‘It was devastating for us all, it really was,’ said Natalie.

Archie underwent a course of chemotherapy – and on day 29 of treatment, he was in remission.

Natalie explained that his total treatment plan will run for three-and-a-half-years, including two-and-a-half years of maintenance therapy.

While in hospital, Archie started singing, inspiring him to record a single with his friends.

To his delight, Archie’s schoolteacher and six fellow pupils joined him in the ITV studio to show their support.

Mother Natalie said that Archie was pleased to return to the classroom – but he is only attending school for half days.

‘How are you feeling now, Archie?,’ asked Dermot.

‘Some days I don’t feel good, some days I do,’ replied the nine-year-old.

But you have a great attitude, you’re very positive, you’re cracking on with everything,’ added Sian.
