Alex Formenton’s Charge Of Assault

Former Ottawa Senators forward Alex Formenton has been charged in London, Ontario for an undisclosed offense connected to an alleged assault of a 20-year-old woman in June 2018. Alex Formenton’s attorney has stated that he will vigorously defend his innocence.

Alex Formenton is one of five pro hockey players who have taken leaves of absence from their teams, including Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, and Dillon Dubé. Alex Formenton and the other players were on Canada’s World Junior team roster in 2018.

The accuser claims that multiple players, including Alex Formenton and some from the World Junior team, committed crimes against her while she was intoxicated. The London Police Services have scheduled a press conference to provide more information on the investigation and charge against Alex Formenton.

According to a published article by Sportico.com, the severity of the assault charge against Alex Formenton could result in a wide range of potential prison sentences, from 18 months to life, depending on various factors. Alex Formenton, drafted by the Senators in 2017, played in 109 NHL games, scoring 23 goals and 16 assists.

Formenton Turned Himself In

In a published article by Bleacher Report, Formenton turned himself in to the police on Sunday, and while Brown did not specify the specific charge, it was confirmed that he was one of several players charged.
