Manchester United are once again threatening to turn a corner under Erik ten Hag after a couple of good performances but face a tough trip to Aston Villa on Sunday in the Premier League.

The Red Devils calmly dispatched of West Ham at Old Trafford last weekend, winning 3-0 while avoiding the kind of drama that has plagued them throughout the season so far. Having won a pulsating encounter previously against Wolves, fans are starting to get a little excited again.

Villa’s form has suffered slightly since they catapulted themselves into the title race and now the real fight is likely to stay in the top four. The Villans have won two of their last five matches in the league so certainly aren’t in crisis, but they have levelled out somewhat.

Here’s everything you need to know about Aston Villa vs Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.

This is set to be a really interesting match between two sides that want the same thing; fourth place in the Premier League. Villa were flying when they went 2-0 up at Old Trafford on Boxing Day, but somehow managed to lose the game 3-2. That makes Sunday’s encounter a tough one to call.

Man Utd look much better in attack now and they should score, but Martinez’s sudden injury means Ten Hag’s side will be weaker at the back than they have been in recent weeks.

The two sides will likely cancel one another out, but it should be fun to watch.
