Manchester City’s pursuit of the Premier League title hit a bump as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

City, aiming to keep pace with leaders Liverpool, fell behind with Raheem Sterling’s first-half strike.

The former City man could have doubled the lead early in the second half, but Ederson denied him.

Despite City’s dominance, Chelsea defended strongly, to keep their lead in the tough encounter.

However, the Blues conceived an unfortunate goal through Rodri’s strike which deflected off Trevoh Chalobah, before finding the net.

The game’s major talking point came in injury time when Levi Colwill appeared to handle the ball in the box, but VAR ruled it accidental and denied City a penalty.

The draw sees City drop to third place, trailing Liverpool by four points, with a game in hand.
