The reduced Premier League schedule makes the Free Hit chip a key play for FPL Gameweek 29.

But for managers without that option, which long-term buys are worth transferring in this week, even if it’s for a hit?

With a little help from Fantasy Football Hub’s powerful AI Points Predictions tool, here are our top long-term picks ahead of FPL Gameweek 29.

Jarrod Bowen

West Ham have enjoyed a significant upturn in form over the last three gameweeks, picking up seven points. The Hammers have scored nine goals in this spell, with Bowen having a hand in almost half with three goals and one assist.

Bowen has now scored 14 goals this campaign, with Mohamed Salah the only midfielder in the game to have found the net on more occasions. Bowen scored West Ham’s only goal in the 4-1 defeat to Aston Villa back in Gameweek 9.

James Maddison

Tottenham midfielders are wise buys for the next four gameweeks, with upcoming matches against Fulham, Luton Town, West Ham and Nottingham Forest. James Maddison provides an interesting option, with four attacking returns in six gameweeks since returning from injury.

Maddison is Spurs’ most creative player, dominating their set pieces including corners and free-kicks. He also got on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture against Fulham, a game his side won 2-0.

Pedro Porro

Sticking with Spurs and defender Pedro Porro carries plenty of appeal over the next four gameweeks given those promising fixtures. Tottenham kept a clean sheet last time out away at Aston Villa and in the reverse fixture against Fulham.

Porro is one of the most attacking defenders in the game, chalking up eight assists so far in 2023/24. He’s produced 41 key passes this season, including ten big chances created, and also sits top among defenders for shots on goal with 37 in the Premier League.

He’s still waiting for one to go in, however.
