A Washington state teacher carried on a so-called relationship with a 17-year-old boy until the victim’s classmates found out he was writing her on Instagram, authorities said in a report from The Spokesman-Review.

McKenna Kindred, 25, having resigned from Central Valley High School, reportedly pleaded guilty on Thursday to amended charges of second-degree sexual misconduct with a minor and communication with a minor for immoral purposes. These are gross misdemeanors under Washington law.

The state and defense agreed that she would receive no time behind bars. Instead, Spokane County Superior Court Judge Dean Chuang reportedly sentenced her to two years of probation and $700 in fines and fees. Kindred must register as a sex offender for 10 years.
