Authorities executed arrest warrants at businesses in Brunswick Thursday morning, according to the Glynn County Police Department.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Following a multi-agency probe into illegal gambling operations, six individuals are now confronting charges, as stated by the Glynn County Police Department. The investigation focused on several businesses in Brunswick.

On Thursday morning, authorities carried out arrest warrants at the implicated Brunswick establishments. This was part of an ongoing collaborative investigation centered around slot machines, also known as Coin Operated Amusement Machines (COAMs).

The businesses in question were reportedly engaged in unlawful practices, disbursing cash payouts to patrons for wins obtained on the coin machines, according to police findings.

Multiple people were arrested in the operation, and the Georgia Lottery Corporation also issued administrative citations to the businesses involved, police said. The coin machines found inside the businesses were also shut down.

The following people were arrested and the following businesses were cited in the investigation:

  • Pratikshaben H. Patel, 52; Lolo Mart – 2722 Norwich St., Brunswick, Georgia
  • Sunil Madhubhai Patel, 68; Highway 341 Citgo – 4192 Norwich St., Brunswick, Georgia
  • Sunil J. Patel, 44; Tropical Island Meat & Grocery – 2500 Norwich St., Brunswick, Georgia

  • Jitendrakumar M. Patel, 47; Snappy Foods – 4200 Georgia Highway 99, Brunswick, Georgia

First Coast News reached out to investigators, asking what charges the suspects are facing, along with their mugshots.

Detectives with the Glynn County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Commercial Gambling Unit and the Georgia Lottery Corporation took part in the investigation.

“This joint operation reflects the continued commitment of local and state agencies to ensure compliance with Georgia’s gambling laws and protect the integrity of state-regulated gaming,” the police department said in a release.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information on this case is encouraged to contact the Glynn County Police Department Non-Emergency at (912) 554-3645 or anonymously via Silent Witness at (912) 264-1333.
