() A man charged with capital murder in Texas has disappeared on the day of his trial after removing his ankle bracelet and fleeing, according to FOX4.
Trevor McEuen, 32, violated his bond conditions, and as such, a warrant for his arrest is active. A search began but has since been suspended by authorities who believe McEuen is no longer in Van Zandt County, 65 miles southeast of Dallas.
The search, which included dogs, was called off around 1 p.m. local time, according to FOX4.
Per the Criminal District Attorney’s office, McEuen removed his ankle monitor just after 5:30 a.m. and left his home.
“It is currently unknown whether McEuen fled on foot or in a vehicle, and there is no description of the clothing he may be wearing. Authorities also have not confirmed whether he is armed,” District Attorney Erleigh Wiley said, via the outlet.
“Your assistance is vital to ensuring community safety and aiding law enforcement in locating and apprehending the fugitive.”
Individuals with any information are urged to contact the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office at 469-376-4500.
