O’FALLON, Mo. – Sometimes you need to treat yourself after a bad day on the job. While driving home from a stressful day at work, a Missouri woman needed a pick-me-up.

“It was a Friday and it was kind of a crummy day, and so I decided to stop in there,” she said.

She stopped at the Conoco gas station at 8695 Veterans Memorial Parkway in O’Fallon to grab a soda. While there, she bought a $50 scratchers ticket for the Missouri Lottery’s $5,000,000 Fortune game.

After getting home, she played her scratchers game, uncovering various numbers and symbols on the ticket. She quickly realized she’d won one of the game’s $5 million top prizes.

“I was just like, ‘Is this real?’” she said. “I called my son to let him take a look.”

Her son was equally shocked and could not believe the ticket was genuine.

“He told me it was fake!” she said. “But after I settled down a little and looked at it again, I knew it was real!”

$5,000,000 Fortune is a $50 scratchers game that offers more than $240 million in prizes, with three top prizes of $5 million. There is a 1 in 3.3 chance of winning a prize when playing a $5,000,000 Fortune scratchers ticket.

$5,000,000 Fortune players have won more than $98.1 million in prizes since the game was released in late May 2024. There are over $154.3 million remaining in unclaimed prizes, including one more $5 million top prize, three $1 million prizes, and 26 prizes of $50,000.
