Kyle Walker has been absent from Manchester City’s last two games, a massive victory over Salford (8-0) and a draw with Brentford (2-2), as he plans to finish his career abroad, possibly joining AC Milan, which is his dream destination.

Yet doing so as club captain has clearly rattled one supporter, who posted on Twitter/X: “Kyle Walker’s behaviour is completely unacceptable.

“As club captain, failing to show up for matches is a disgrace.

“If you want to leave, do it with respect — this is not the way. Your lack of commitment has been a major factor in this disappointing campaign.”

That clearly riled up the rapid right-back, who responded: “Failed to turn up?

“I can’t be at Brentford and training at the same time. You may need to check your sources.”

He hinted that he was present at the club’s training facilities rather than at the actual games, showing his commitment to training despite not playing in the matches.

It appeared there was previous too, with the fan account going on to claim that Walker had unblocked them to post the reply.

After City’s FA Cup third-round win against Salford on January 11, Guardiola shared Walker’s desire to depart, a topic that has been ongoing since then.

talkSPORT understands that the 34-year-old has turned down a £400,000 per-week salary offer from the Saudi Pro League in order to stay in Europe.

Talks continue with European giants Milan, where he could join countrymen Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The move would be one of a number that are expected to happen this month as City look to make amends for a poor start to the season.

Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov are all set to arrive with deals close to being completed, talkSPORT understands.

The club’s spending could pass £120million with Marmoush coming in from Eintracht Frankfurt for £60m due to a revelatory start to the season.

Khusanov is expected to cost £33m when he arrives from Lens, while City will pay Palmeiras £30m for Reis.
