Former NSW Liberal MP Rory Amon has been arrested for allegedly breaching his bail conditions over child sex offending charges.
He was arrested in central Sydney about 10pm yesterday.
Last month the 35-year-old former MP formally pleaded not guilty to five charges of sexual intercourse with a person aged 10 to 14.
He also pleaded not guilty to five other charges related to the alleged illegal hook-ups.
Amon resigned soon after, with a subsequent by-election taking the seat of Pittwater out of Liberal hands for the first time in 50 years.
He was refused police bail and is scheduled to appear in Downing Centre Local Court today.
Amon was elected to parliament in March 2023 and was the opposition spokesman on youth issues at the time of his arrest.
He is scheduled to face a 10-day trial over the child sex charges next February.
