UC Santa Barbara student missing after a weekend with friends in Big Bear

Loved ones are spreading the word, trying to find a beloved UC Santa Barbara student who disappeared over the weekend in Big Bear.

Tanner Prentiss, 22, was last seen walking on Village Drive around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Prentiss and several friends took a trip to Big Bear Lake for the weekend, and that after a night out on Friday, he never made it back to his rental cabin.

Officials said Prentiss was possibly walking toward Big Bear Boulevard before he went missing. The sheriff’s station said he was last seen wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

According to a missing persons post, Prentiss stands 5 feet and 10 inches tall, weighs about 170 pounds, has blue eyes, fair skin and red hair. In addition, photos show he has his ears pierced.

Prentiss’ friends have taken to social media in efforts to spread the word, asking for the community’s help to find him.
