There was a vibe in the air on the Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday.
The 43-year-old charismatic talk show host lit up when she interviewed singer Joe Jonas on her cozy set.
The beauty from Fort Worth, Texas, looked smitten as she remarked how incredible it is that Joe, 35, has a singing family that he can work with.
His brothers include the equally famous Nick and Kevin Jonas.
Jonas, who is divorced from wife of five years Sophie Turner, also glowed as he sat on the couch near Clarkson, explaining he appreciates being able to work with his family and sing old country songs with his father. She cooed that is ‘awesome.’
Both Kelly and Joe appear to be single at the moment.
Kelly has not seemed to date since her nasty divorce from Brandon Blackstock whom she has two children with.
Jonas was on the show to promote his new solo album Music For People Who Believe In Love. His brother Franklin is also on the record.
Joe told Kelly the record is a chance for him to rediscover himself as an artist separate from the Jonas Brothers and DNCE.
This comes after news Clarkson has been hit by ‘ups and downs’ over the last six years.
The singer and television host made the admission during an emotional speech on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, during which she thanked her crew and audience for their support as her daytime series marked its 1,000th episode – following her weeks-long unexplained break from fronting the program.
She told fans: ‘We have laughed together, we have cried together with beautiful stories, sang together with some people, danced together, celebrated and competed together.
‘I’ve lost, alone, a lot.’
After her studio audience hesitated to respond to the comment, Kelly paused and reassured them: ‘It’s OK!’
She went on to acknowledge the sense of community she felt had been built up through the show, adding: ‘We created a community and supported each other through a lot of ups and downs — a lot of ups and downs personally as well.’
Kelly’s talk show debuted in September 2019 and has since become a staple of daytime television.
The Grammy-winning singer and ‘American Idol’ winner did not specify what she had ‘lost’ or the nature of the ‘ups and downs’ she referenced in her speech on air.
But her time on the show has coincided with a tumultuous period in her personal life, including a high-profile divorce from her ex-husband and former manager, Blackstock, 47.
Kelly filed for divorce from him in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage.
The former couple, who have daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remington ‘Remy’ Alexander, 8, were locked in a protracted legal battle before finalising their divorce settlement in March 2022.
Kelly’s speech also came as she returned to hosting duties after an absence that began on February 28. During her hiatus, various celebrity guests stepped in to present the show in her place.
The singer has not publicly addressed the reason for her absence.
But a source told TMZ she had taken time away to deal with a ‘personal matter’ that did ‘not directly involve her’.
The insider added the situation was ‘not a cause for alarm’ and said Kelly was ‘completely fine’
This comes after claims Clarkson’s TV talk show has stopped her from touring in recent years.
The pop star has hosted The Kelly Clarkson Show since 2019, and the chart-topping singer recently acknowledged that the talk show has hindered her music career.
Speaking to her fans during a rare performance in Atlantic City, Kelly explained: ‘We haven’t done a show in a while, y’all, ’cause I have a talk show. It’s like a whole other job.’
The Grammy-winning star actually relished performing at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena. But Kelly admitted that she’s simply too busy with her talk show and her family life to embark on a tour.
The ‘Since U Been Gone’ hitmaker – who has Remington, nine, and River, ten, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock – said: ‘We are bummed ’cause we love doing shows, and it’s hard to fit it in, so it’s cool when it does work out with the schedule. And it’s cool to get to see your faces and feed off y’all. Thank you so much for having so much energy.’
Meanwhile, Kelly recently admitted that she’s firmly focused on raising her kids, rather than looking for love.
The pop star – who was married to Brandon between 2013 and 2022 – insisted that her children are her number one priority in life, meaning that she simply doesn’t have time to date at the moment.
Kelly said on ‘Today with Jenna and Friends’: ‘I’m running from my show to baseball practice and I’m trying to be just there.
‘It’s a lot. My mom will tell me, ‘Look, I was a single mom. I didn’t get to make everything. They’re gonna be fine. You turned out fine.”
Despite this, Kelly was able to look forward to performing two shows in Atlantic City over the weekend.
The singer – who rose to fame as the inaugural winner of ‘American Idol’ in 2002 – said: ‘I am just trying to be there as much for them [as possible] and we’re a cute little unit. I am trying to adult more.
‘So for Mother’s Day weekend I do have a couple shows, but my kids aren’t coming. So I do get to be an adult with my band having drinks and having adult time.’
