A West Virginia woman was arrested this week after young children made several 911 calls crying and screaming.
Amanda Lynn Spurlock, 32, was charged with two counts of child neglect with risk of injury, WCHS reported.
According to court documentation, deputies arrived at the residence on Monday night following multiple 911 calls made by children. Upon arrival, they discovered two children wearing soiled diapers. During their search, deputies found an empty pill bottle, marijuana, burned foil piles hinting at illicit drug use, and a “white powdery substance.” Each of these items was easily accessible to the children.
Spurlock was found “lying on the floor passed out” in a bedroom and appeared to be intoxicated when she woke up.
She reportedly admitted to regularly using fentanyl for the passed two weeks, including smoking the drug while the children were present.
She’s being held on a $20,000 bail. No information was available on the status of the children or their relationship with Spurlock.
