Illinois State Police responded to multiple crashes during Friday's severe weather

MORGAN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Two people died and four were hospitalized after a crash in Morgan County on Saturday.

Illinois State Police said the two-car crash happened near the intersection of U.S. 67 and Woodson Winchester Road around 2 p.m.

Two people were pronounced dead on scene, according to Illinois State Police. Four others were brought to regional hospitals with injuries.

After the crash, all lanes of traffic were closed in the area. All lanes reopened at approximately 8:07 p.m.

Marcy Patterson, the Morgan County Coroner, has confirmed the deaths of two individuals in the crash, although their identities are still withheld pending notification of their next of kin. The Illinois State Police, along with the coroner’s office, continue to investigate the incident. Currently, there are no additional details available.
