WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Authorities arrested a man from Georgia on Wednesday after receiving an alert from a Flock safety camera indicating that a stolen vehicle was in the vicinity of Washington County, Tennessee.

The Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) stated in a news release that the camera system notified deputies of the stolen vehicle’s presence in the area of State Route 75.

Deputies later found the vehicle in the 1900 block of Gray Station Sulphur Springs Road.

The vehicle was reported stolen by a rental car company in Anderson County, South Carolina.

The driver, identified by police as Seth Lanier Strickland, failed to return the rental on April 7, the WCSO stated.

A shotgun, rifle, brass knuckles, multiple rounds of ammo and methamphetamine were found during a search of the vehicle, according to the release.

Strickland, 32, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of stolen property over $10,000
  • Prohibited weapons
  • Two counts of unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon
  • Unlawful drug paraphernalia

Strickland is also wanted out of Sullivan County for a violation of probation stemming from a drug-related charge, the WCSO reported.

As of Thursday, he’s being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.

He’s set to appear in court Thursday.
