Ray J has broken his silence over his former mentor Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ongoing sex-trafficking trial while appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
During the startling interview, the 44-year-old R&B singer, known for his past relationship with Kim Kardashian, shared his thoughts on the developments in the now disgraced music mogul’s legal situation and his infamous ‘freak off’ parties.
‘I think it’s turning into a bit of a circus, with all the accusations and everyone’s stories about what happens behind closed doors. It just sounds increasingly bizarre and outrageous, don’t you think?’ he remarked.
He added: ‘I’m trying to grasp everything being said, especially with Kid Cudi speaking out and then mentioning, “Cassie played both of us”… What is the goal here? Are we aiming to share all these wild tales, and somehow that links to sex-trafficking?’
Ray J went on to say that he felt the claims against Diddy were ‘starting to become outrageous.’

‘It’s a RICO [Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act] case. It’s really only Diddy and maybe one other person, I’m just starting to feel uncomfortable, and I’m starting to feel weird about this whole thing,’ he added.
While referring to some of the graphic evidence given in open court against Diddy, Ray J said it felt like they are ‘in this vortex of this dominatrix story about all of these different characters that are coming out and the names and the nicknames.’
‘I mean it’s intense. It’s entertaining, for sure, and it’s definitely press worthy. But at the end of it all, it’s like, ‘This is what Diddy is being charged for, and this is what he possibly might serve a lot of jail time for?’ I don’t understand it, and I really want to know where this is all going to go, and where does this lead?’ he noted.
‘It’s weird. It’s freaky… I mean, it feels like they’re just trying to paint these pictures of Diddy,’ he said.
Ray J, then, insisted that the portrayal of Diddy, in court and on the news, is not someone he is familiar with or recognizes.
‘And I was around Diddy all the way, pretty much, up until the arrest. And all I got from that, when I hung out with Diddy and – this is word to my mom and kids – he’s always inspired me to be great,’ he said.
Ray J added: ‘It just sounds like this was a private, personal thing that was happening and now it’s starting to become diabolical… It’s chilling and it’s scary for a lot of people out there in this business, like us who are trying to walk the right path.’
As for whether he feels there had been ‘massive overreach’ by the authorities against Diddy, the father-of-two agreed that some evidence may have been consensual sexual activity and not criminal.

Still, he noted some of ‘these videos’ that have some out are ‘disturbing’ and ‘not okay.’
‘But looking at the crimes that he’s being charged for, this is where it starts to go overboard. And whoever was mad at the top, [was] really mad,’ Ray J added.
Ray J also stated that Diddy needs to be freed and questioned ‘everybody that’s talking about these stories.’
‘Do they want to see Puffy rot in jail? I mean, is that what we’re here for? Because I just think that that’s unfair. And just knowing everybody, it just could have been done a different way,’ he asked.
‘And now it’s starting to worry me, and I honestly think that Diddy will get out, and I think… there’s nothing here. I think they made their point. Whatever they were trying to make, your point is made,’ he added. ‘Now let Diddy out. Free Diddy!’

Ray J went on to state he believes Diddy will walk away with his freedom.
When asked about his reaction to seeing the footage of Diddy attacking his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, in a hotel corridor, he said: ‘Listen, I was very hurt when I saw the video. I couldn’t believe it. I was very disappointed, and I still am.’
‘My heart goes out to Cassie, for me, just watching that, right, it’s not okay. There’s nothing about that that was okay. And I can’t say “but” after that, because that’s just what that is. And I feel the same way you feel,’ he continued.
Ray J noted he last spoke to Diddy a week before everything ‘went down.’
‘We didn’t talk long, because, again, I love Diddy and I love the family, and when I was vocal about what happened, guess they didn’t take it as if I was supporting. And so the family and I kind of got, you know, on the wrong page,’ he said.

Ray J acknowledged that it feels the whole world is ‘against Diddy’ and that he feels ‘for him.’
‘I’m actually worried about him in this state now, because it’s a dangerous world, and we’re just seeing a lot of things unfold and power being played, and it’s a circus act,’ the One Wish hitmaker added. ‘How many more stories do we got to hear? I mean, this is some really freaky stuff that I think should be kept private, and it’s just starting to get freakier and dirtier.’
Ray J also clarified that while he ‘attended a lot of parties with Diddy’ that he never was at any of his ‘freak offs.’
‘We’ve never used that term whenever we went to a Diddy party. A Diddy party was where most people couldn’t get in,’ he said. ‘I never got an invitation. Never knew it existed. And I feel like in my world that I’m in, and I like to party and have fun, at least I would have got an invitation.’
