The sports comedy sequel will also feature many familiar faces from the original and plenty of cameos.

LOS ANGELES — Adam Sandler is back on the golf green in the latest “Happy Gilmore 2” trailer.

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the 1996 comedy sequel, showcasing Sandler reprising his legendary character alongside the original cast members: Christopher McDonald as Gilmore’s adversary Shooter McGavin and Julie Bowen as the former PGA Tour publicist, Virginia Venit.

The trailer also features a host of celebrity appearances, including Post Malone, several well-known sportscasters, Ben Stiller, Bad Bunny, Kristen Bell, among others.

Sandler’s daughters Sadie and Sunny will also star in the film.

“The first one is so iconic, we all kind of knew the world that we were stepping into,” said Conor Sherry, who portrays one of Sandler’s sons, in an interview with the Associated Press. “We felt like the latest members of a long-standing family.”

Other cameo’s reported to be in the movie, but were not included in this trailer are Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, Kid Cudi and Eminem.

Top golfers like Bryson DeChambeau, Scottie Scheffler, John Daly, Rory McIlroy and more also joined the cast for “Happy Gilmore 2.”

The newest trailer, running just over two minutes long, shows Gilmore trying to get back into golf and being called the “comeback kid” while breaking in a new caddy played by Bad Bunny.

The movie revolves around Sandler’s character trying to pay for his daughter to go to ballet school where she can go to her “happy place” just as he has.

“Happy Gilmore 2” is directed by Kyle Newacheck, and co-written by Sandler and the original film’s Tim Herlihy. The film is not yet rated, but the trailer did have teases of explicit language. The first film was rated PG-13 in 1996.

When does ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ come out?

The long-awaited sequel will hit Netflix on July 25, 2025.

“Happy Gilmore 2” is arriving more than three decades after the first film’s debut, which saw Sandler’s character win the Tour Championship.

Netflix previously released a teaser trailer on Christmas Day before kickoff of the NFL’s big debut on the streaming platform. The December clip features Kelce, who appears to perhaps be playing a golf clubhouse staffer, remarking “It’s great to see you back, Mr. Gilmore.”
