We’re still waiting for our Tuesday night staples — The Rookie, Will Trent, and High Potential — to return with new episodes, but thankfully, a variety of entertaining new shows are here to keep us company.
If you’re in the mood for some Gen Z antics, we recommend checking out Adults on Hulu and Benito Skinner’s outstanding new coming-of-age college comedy Overcompensating on Prime Video. Looking for some entertainment to tide you over until Happy Gilmore 2 releases on Netflix? Consider trying Apple TV+’s new golf comedy Stick, starring Owen Wilson! We’re also tuning into The Four Seasons on Netflix, the latest season of Poker Face on Peacock, and the new dark comedy Sirens on Netflix.
So much TV, so little time. When exactly does The Rookie return with new episodes? Here’s everything you need to know.
Is The Rookie On ABC Tonight (6/3/25)?
Nope. The season finale of The Rookie aired Tuesday, May 13 on ABC. Tonight’s ABC primetime lineup includes a new episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, followed by reruns of Jeopardy! Masters and The Game Show Show.
How Many Episodes Are There of The Rookie Season 7?
Nope. The seventh season consists of 18 total episodes.
Is The Rookie Renewed For Season 8?
Of course! In April 2025, ABC renewed The Rookie for an eighth season. Per Deadline, the upcoming season is expected to consist of 18 episodes.
When Does The Rookie Return With New Episodes On ABC?
Unfortunately, The Rookie isn’t on ABC’s 2025 fall schedule. Just like last season, the network is holding The Rookie and Will Trent for midseason. No official premiere dates have been announced, but both shows are expected to return in January 2026.
Can I Watch The Rookie On Hulu or Disney+?
Yes! Every episode of The Rookie is streaming on Hulu and Disney+.
If you’re new to Hulu, you can get started with a 30-day free trial on the streamer’s basic (with ads) plan. After the trial period, you’ll pay $9.99/month. If you want to upgrade to Hulu ad-free, it costs $18.99/month.
If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the Disney+ Bundles, all of which include Hulu. These bundles start at $10.99/month for ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu and goes up to $29.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max, all ad-free.
