His weight once attracted jibes from Liam Gallagher, who dubbed him ‘the fat dancer from Take That’.
But Robbie Williams, 39, looked trim and dapper in a petrol grey suit at the Q Magazine Awards at Grosvenor House Hotel, London, on Monday.
The smart suit showed off his newly slimline figure and was teamed with a black turtle-necked sweater and patent leather shoes.

Dashing: Robbie Williams showed off his new slimline figure as he picked up a prize for Best Idol at the Q Awards
The singer took home the Best Idol award at the Q Awards, an event hosted by Al Murray, known for portraying The Pub Landlord. Notable attendees included Ellie Goulding, the Pet Shop Boys, and Jake Bugg, each winning accolades.
The star humorously remarked that the Best Idol category seemed invented solely to ensure his attendance, stating: ‘Of all the fabricated awards to lure a celebrity to an event.’
He continued: ‘I’m truly delighted. I’m turning 40 next year and have been around for many years. It’s touching that people still find me significant enough to invite me and present me with an award, and I’m incredibly thankful for that.’

Honoured: Robbie said that he was ‘grateful’ for his Q Idol Award
Last year the former Take That star revealed that he intended to lose weight in time for his next birthday in February.
He said: ‘I was looking like Geoff Capes after the Christmas run.. and seeing as 40 is just around the corner it’s time to go all yoga and lentils… or who knows where it could all end.’
The singer referred to his weight issues in the song No One Likes a Fat Pop Star from his forthcoming album Swings Both Ways, the anticipated follow-up to his 2001 swing album.

Robbie explained his motivation behind the album: ‘First of all, I wanted to do a swing album because I wanted to do a swing album. I always knew I’d do another and I think now is the perfect time to do it.
‘It’s different – it’s not all covers. I had some songs that I wanted the world to hear and check out and maybe become part of the fabric of their lives, if I’m lucky enough, that I’ve had a hand in writing.
The album features covers and original songs, in addition to duets with Michael Buble, Olly Murs, Rugus Wainright, Lily Allen and Kelly Clarkson.

Chunkier: Robbie looked a little heavier as he performed at the HDI Arena, Hannover, Germany, in July 2013
Meanwhile singer Olly Murs has recently revealed that he will dedicate the music video for his new single Hand on Heart to Robbie.
The singer, who became friends with Robbie after supporting him on his European tour earlier this year, is planning to re-create Robbie’s iconic Angels video, with Robbie set to make a cameo appearance.
Robbie’s latest album Swings Both Ways is released on November 18.
