PAXTON, Ill. (WCIA) — Paxton-Buckley-Loda District 210 Superintendent Travis Duley announced his resignation in an email on Tuesday.
WCIA, in partnership with the Ford County Chronicle, has reported that months of stress have begun to affect him, prompting him to believe it’s time for a change in leadership within the district. More updates are expected from the school district as summer unfolds.
“Being a superintendent is a unique role that requires a significant amount of energy and inherently carries a certain level of stress,” Duley explained in his email to district families. “This stress has started to affect me in various ways, and although I have tried to cope, I’ve reached a point where I feel it’s the right time to explore other opportunities and let someone else take the helm of the district.”
Earlier this year, the school district dealt with multiple complaints regarding inappropriate touching by Robert Pacey, who serves as a teacher and volunteer coach. However, no criminal charges have been brought against Pacey.
