On June 3, 2025, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) detained the family of Mohamed Soliman, the suspected Boulder terrorist charged with a fire attack on demonstrators. The White House announced, “THEY COULD BE DEPORTED AS EARLY AS TONIGHT,” signaling swift action.

Consequently, this move intensifies national security concerns. Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national, allegedly targeted a Boulder event supporting Israeli hostages held by Hamas. Now, his family faces deportation as authorities investigate their involvement. Read more on Breitbart.

Details of the Boulder Terrorist Family Detention

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the detention, stating, “We’re also investigating to what extent his family knew about this horrific attack.”

Soliman’s spouse and their five children had their visas annulled by the State Department. Furthermore, the family has been taken into custody by ICE and might be relocated to a detention facility in Texas. As reported by Breitbart,

“Soliman entered the U.S. through Los Angeles International Airport on a tourist visa in August 2022. His visa expired in February 2023, but Soliman did not leave the country as mandated by federal law, classifying him as an illegal immigrant. Despite the expiration of his visa, a work permit was approved under the former President Joe Biden’s administration, allowing him employment in the U.S. in March 2023. This permit expired in March of this year.”

For instance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned, “Under the Trump Administration we will find you, revoke your visa, and deport you.” Therefore, this action reflects a hardline stance on terrorism.

The White House emphasized urgency with a follow-up statement: “Six One-Way Tickets for Mohamed’s Wife and Five Kids.” Thus, deportation looms as a priority.

Implications of the Detention and Deportation

The detention of Soliman’s family carries significant implications. For example, it underscores the Trump administration’s aggressive approach to national security.

Meanwhile, critics may argue this risks alienating immigrant communities. However, supporters see it as a necessary deterrent against terrorism.

Additionally, the investigation into the family’s knowledge of the attack could set a precedent for future cases. Therefore, this case highlights the tension between security and immigration policy. In turn, it fuels debates over how to handle families of suspected terrorists.

Conclusion on the Boulder Terrorist Family Case

DHS detained the family of Boulder terrorist Mohamed Soliman, with the White House pushing for their deportation. This swift action raises national security alarms after the attack.

Consequently, it divides opinions on immigration and security. Thus, the Boulder terrorist family detention stands as a critical test for U.S. policy.
