Boy seriously injured after shooting at Orange Park Athletic Association

The boy was shot in the leg and is currently listed in serious condition at the hospital, according to the Orange Park Police Department.

ORANGE PARK, Fla. — A boy is critically injured following a shooting incident at the Orange Park Athletic Association on Tuesday afternoon, as reported by the Orange Park Police Department.

Police said around 12:42 p.m., officers responded to 1101 Gano Ave. regarding a boy who had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

“Our investigators are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the police department said in a release.

Police said the incident was isolated and there is no threat to the community. 

All the people who were present at the time of the shooting are cooperating with investigators, police said.
