Fired ABC News reporter Terry Moran launches Substack job after Stephen Miller tirade

Former ABC News veteran correspondent Terry Moran has launched his independent journalism career.

The 65-year-old journalist has revived his Substack account and promised to return to what he called “important work” on Wednesday, just one day after being ousted from the Disney-owned network.

Moran was dismissed Tuesday for violating the company’s policies with a viral social media attack against top White House official Stephen Miller.

“For nearly 28 years, I worked as a reporter and anchor at ABC News. As you might have heard, I am no longer there. Instead, I’m here with you on Substack,” Moran explained in a video uploaded to the platform.

“This amazing space and I can’t wait to get at it. Get into the important work that we all have to do in this time of such trouble for our country.”

Moran revealed he would be publishing his own reporting and interviews on his site.

He teased it would take some time to get the account up and running because “he had to get some stuff sorted out.”

Moran announced this change on his X account, the same medium he recently used to criticize White House Deputy Chief of Staff Miller.

His now-deleted post targeted Miller, calling the Trump administrator “one of the people who conceptualizes the impulses of the Trumpist movement and translates them into policy,” and operates not on “brains” but on “bile.”

“It’s not brains. It’s bile. Miller is a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred. He’s a world-class hater,” Moran added. “You can see this just by looking at him because you can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment. He eats his hate.”

The Disney-owned ABC initially suspended Moran for the post because it violated the network’s “objectivity and impartiality in its news coverage.”

“The post does not reflect the views of ABC News and violated our standards — as a result, Terry Moran has been suspended pending further evaluation,” a spokesperson told The Post Sunday.

Moran’s attack on Miller “pissed” off employees at the company, The Post exclusively reported.

“He should be fired,” one ABC News insider told The Post on Monday. “People inside are pissed at Terry for screwing things up for the network.”

ABC fired Moran on Tuesday, three days before the reporter’s contract was set to expire and because of the social media post.

“We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew,” an ABC News spokesperson told The Post.

Since his firing, Moran has changed his X biography, describing himself as an “Independent Journalist.”
