(NewsNation) — A Florida man who posed as a flight attendant for four different airlines booked 120 free flights over six years.

Tiron Alexander, a 35-year-old individual, impersonated a flight attendant for various airlines from 2018 to 2024, as stated in a press release from the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. He illegally accessed flight crew websites to reserve complimentary flights by exploiting employee benefits.

On June 5, Alexander was found guilty of wire fraud and gaining access to a secure airport area under false pretenses. The court documents mention Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines among the affected carriers.

By pretending to be a flight attendant or staff member, Alexander managed to take 34 flights on a single airline, utilizing 30 distinct badge numbers and fictitious hiring dates to secure free travel. Additionally, he falsely represented himself as a flight attendant for three more airlines to secure extra flights.

Alexander is scheduled to be sentenced August 25. The maximum sentence for wire fraud is 20 years and 10 years for the charge of entering secure airport areas under false pretenses.
