Hayden Panettiere offered a hopeful look at what she believed was ahead in an emotional interview, saying she felt she still had “a lot more life to live.”
The “Nashville” and “Heroes” actress opened up to podcaster Jay Shetty in May, describing a renewed sense of purpose after enduring years marked by “darkness,” grief and personal challenges.
“I finally feel like I have shaken off all of this darkness and this negativity,” Panettiere, 36, said during the conversation.
“I’ve closed one door and another door is opened … I can feel all the exciting possibilities. I feel like I have a lot more life to live.”
Panettiere appeared on the podcast while promoting her memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” a candid account of her experiences with mental health struggles and addiction.
Even as she reflected on painful chapters from her past, the actress emphasized that her focus had shifted toward healing, happiness and what she described as the “exciting possibilities” still in front of her.
Panettiere has previously spoken about experiencing severe postpartum depression after welcoming her daughter, Kaya, in 2014, and about the difficult decision for Kaya to primarily live with her father, former heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko.
The actress’ father confirmed her death in a statement Sunday.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” Skip Panettiere said.
“She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen,” the statement continued.
Neither her cause of death, nor the circumstances behind it, were immediately provided.
The Post has reached out to Panettiere’s rep.
