A woman from Louisiana faced arrest and multiple drug possession charges after allegedly assaulting her granddaughter over accusations of taking her methamphetamine.
According to a news release shared on Facebook by the Jennings Police Department on Saturday, 62-year-old Margo Lynn Pattum was detained on charges including nine counts of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of firearm possession in the presence of an illegal substance, and obstruction of justice.
According to police, Pattum also allegedly strangled her own granddaughter, described as a juvenile, after accusing her of stealing her drugs.

Jennings Police stated that they responded to a call on Thursday after the granddaughter reported that Pattum “strangled her” because she believed the girl stole her methamphetamine. As their investigation into the alleged incident progressed, police got a search warrant for Pattum’s home.
Police stated that as they executed the warrant, they discovered “a wide variety of narcotics” including meth, crack cocaine, and marijuana, plus additional narcotics in pill form. They also seized three firearms, one of which had been reported stolen.
Pattum was also searched, and police found a container with crack cocaine.
According to police, Pattum’s alleged criminal activity continued as she was being transported to jail when she allegedly “attempted to discard a container” that had more suspected crack cocaine “behind the transport seat” of the vehicle in which she was riding.
Pattum was taken into custody and held on $20,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing.
