The new season of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” is jam-packed with stars competing to win $1 million for the charity of their choice.
But one name stuck out to us, and to Kimmel himself.
Matt Damon is set to team up with “Jeopardy!” host Ken Jennings. In the season preview shown in the video above, Jennings expresses enthusiasm with, “Do we love Matt Damon or what?” Kimmel responds humorously, declaring, “I’m coming on ‘Jeopardy!’ with someone you hate!” signaling the playful rivalry with Damon.
The playful “feud” between Kimmel and Damon has been a comedic feature for almost two decades on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” It started when Kimmel humorously ended his show by saying they ran out of time for Damon, even though Damon wasn’t scheduled to appear that night. This has evolved into a long-running joke on the talk show and now extends to “Millionaire.”
This season will also present a variety of celebrity duos, such as Joe Buck and Oliver Hudson, Helen Hunt and Dan Bucatinsky, Joel McHale and Jim Rash for a “Community” reunion, Kal Penn and Jameela Jamil from “Mira, Royal Detective,” real-life couple Brad Goreski and Gary Janetti, CNN’s Jake Tapper and Kaitlan Collins, comedians Mike Birbiglia and Atsuko Okatsuka, “Severance” actors Tramell Tillman and Zach Cherry, Adam Devine and Anders Holm from “Workaholics,” Kate Flannery and Oscar Nuñez from “The Office,” “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” veterans Drew Carey and Aisha Tyler, Sarah Silverman & Marc Maron, “The Daily Show” hosts Jordan Klepper and Ronny Chieng, Jillian Bell and Chloe Fineman from “Summer of 69,” and “Deli Boys” actors Asif Ali & Saagar Shaikh.
The season premiere of “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” airs Wednesday, July 23, at 8 pm EST/ 7pm CST on ABC. It streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of this ABC station.
