() The home of recently slain Minnesota lawmaker Rep. Melissa Hortman was broken into Wednesday morning.

‘s Brian Entin confirmed police said someone pried plywood off a broken window in the back of the house and searched the home but took nothing of significance.

Hortman and her husband were fatally shot early Saturday morning outside their home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The alleged shooter is Vance Boelter. Boelter disguised himself as a police officer during the incident. He also seriously wounded Sen. John Hoffman and his wife at Hoffman’s home in Champlin, Minnesota.

Boelter was captured in Sibley County, in south-central Minnesota, after a two-day search.

Earlier this week, the Senate and House held several security briefings to discuss the rise in threats against Congress. Boelter allegedly had dozens of Democratic members of Congress listed in his writings in addition to the state lawmakers and others he’s accused of targeting.

He also attempted to attack two other lawmakers that same night as the Hortman and Hoffman shootings.

Rep. Greg Landsman, D-Ohio, who was also on Boelter’s list, has called for bipartisan leadership to work together to stop all forms of political violence. Landsman also acknowledged that President Trump needs to step up and provide the leadership necessary to prevent such incidents from occurring.

“It doesn’t feel normal,” said Landsman. “I think people are legitimately worried. They’re taking it hopefully seriously. Obviously, they need to take it more seriously.”

Boelter is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree attempted murder.
