Fire crews are on site and roads have been blocked in Sydney’s inner west after a fire erupted this morning at an industrial site in Marrickville.
Firefighters responded to a fire on Cook Street around 3:15 am, discovering three two-storey industrial buildings engulfed in flames.
By approximately 6 am, the scene was attended by 16 fire trucks and 50 firefighters.
The team managed to enter the building but had to retreat as the fire intensified.
Aerial crews with hose lines were able to keep the fire contained to the one site, with no neighbours suffering any damage.
There were no reports of people inside the building, and tenants had confirmed none of their staff had been on site.
No firefighters have been injured.
The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
Cook Street remains blocked off, while Sydenham Road is partially open, with drivers in the area urged to take care.
