Food Network star chef Anne Burrell, who died on Tuesday, was allegedly found unresponsive at her New York home alongside dozens of pills.
According to reports, Anne Burrell was found unconscious in the shower by her husband, prompting a 911 call. A source revealed to the New York Post that Burrell had been performing improv in Brooklyn the previous evening and appeared to be “in great spirits.”
The New York Fire Department confirmed that Burrell experienced cardiac arrest, yet insiders told the New York Post it is premature to determine if the pills found nearby contributed to her death. Sources also reportedly believe there is no indication of foul play.
Sources told TMZ that a 911 dispatcher advised Burrell’s husband to perform CPR even though he mentioned her body was cold.
Burrell was known for hosting “Worst Cooks in America” on Food Network and was featured on “Iron Chef America,” where she initially appeared on television. She was 55 years old.
