Karen Read 'didn't do this crime,' says jury foreman after acquitting her of murder charges: report

The jury foreman involved in Karen Read’s retrial for murder charges has recently spoken out, attributing the case’s outcome to police errors. In a new television interview, the foreman emphasized that the acquitted defendant was not only cleared beyond a reasonable doubt but is completely “innocent.”

“Karen Read is innocent, and she didn’t commit the crime,” Juror No. 1 shared on “Today” Tuesday morning. “There was no evidence proving her guilt, and from the start, I saw her as an innocent person who needed evidence to be proven guilty, which I don’t believe was ever provided.”

Last week, jurors dismissed all charges linked to homicide, convicting her solely on charges of drunken driving after she had been consuming cocktails and driving around Canton, Massachusetts, during a snowstorm.

O’Keefe’s niece testified at trial that he had a toxic relationship with Read and indicated he wanted to call it off in the weeks before his death.

In an earlier interview with the Boston Herald, the foreman said he had ties to another high-profile local case. He knew the Boston Marathon bombers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, as well as an 8-year-old victim of their terror attack, Martin Richard.
