In an earlier report about Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who is accused of human smuggling, a Tennessee judge decided against the government’s request for his detention before trial, arguing that he was not a significant flight risk.
Additionally, as covered by RedState’s Susie Moore, U.S. Magistrate Judge Barbara Holmes determined in her ruling on June 22 that the government did not demonstrate a “serious risk” that Abrego Garcia would “obstruct justice or disrupt the integrity of these proceedings.” As a result, he was ordered to be released on Wednesday.
Back in May, the individual, described by the media as a “Maryland man” and residing in the country illegally, was charged with two felony counts: conspiracy to transport aliens and the illegal transportation of undocumented individuals. He was returned to the United States from El Salvador in early June to confront these charges.
