A Silicon Valley executive is facing intense backlash after publishing a detailed list of “non-negotiable” traits she wants in a partner while asking the internet to help her find the tech professional of her dreams.
Brooke LeBlanc, an executive at technology company Corgi, drew widespread criticism after sharing her dating requirements on X.
“Who wants to cofound the rest of my life with me?” LeBlanc wrote, then followed up with a description of her ideal partner.
The 29-year-old said she was looking for a man who is “healthy masculine,” “post economic (still hardworking)” and “on the healing path.” She also said she strongly preferred someone who “works in tech.”
The checklist quickly became a target for online commenters, many of whom also took aim at San Francisco’s notoriously difficult dating scene.
“I can’t imagine anything worse than being single and dating in SF,” one commenter wrote.
“Lol. I thought this was AI slop. Sad to find out it’s real,” another person said.
“Good luck. Leave your checklist at home and just fall in love with someone. You’re scoring them before you know them. No one wins with this approach. SMH,” a third commenter added.
LeBlanc pushed back against the criticism, writing: “God forbid a woman asks for what she wants.”
“Sorry, I don’t want to date a loser!” she added.
She said the list was shaped by “years of dating experience.”
“Getting bullied on the Internet today, so I can be a financially free hot mom in the future,” LeBlanc wrote.
