EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — Following 25 years of service, Effingham Police Chief Jason McFarland if officially retiring.
Chief McFarland began his career in Effingham as a Patrolman, eventually moving into the Investigations unit before rising to the position of Chief. Throughout his service, he was instrumental in solving numerous cases and skillfully managing a variety of crises. His leadership was widely recognized for its positive influence, especially in his mentorship and active participation in the community.
“Chief McFarland has dedicated nearly 30 years to leading with integrity, safeguarding our community, and supporting his fellow officers,” the department shared in a Facebook post on Friday. “We are grateful to Chief McFarland for his 25 years of dedicated service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
