ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) Becky Mitchell is living the nightmare of her daughter’s face being the subject of a missing person’s bulletin.

“It’s hard to talk about her without getting angry or upset,” she said.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, her daughter, Haleigh Breann Murphy, was last seen on June 16, 2023, in Round Rock, Texas.

“Hell” is how Mitchell describes what things have been like since.

Mitchell said she’s full of immense pride for her daughter.

“How to describe my daughter,” she said, smiling. “Very independent. She was one of those people who always wanted to get where she wanted to be by herself. She wanted to say, ‘I did this.'”

DPS confirmed with affiliate KXAN that the Texas Rangers and the Austin Police Department are working the case, and DPS cannot provide further information publicly because the investigation is still active.

Mitchell said investigators have recently told her they’re making headway with the case, but she’s still raising money to contribute to a reward fund to encourage more people to come forward.

“Without her, it’s like our lives stopped,” Mitchell said. “And for the last two years, we’re just waiting to live again.”
