Nicola Peltz had a subtle reaction to claims that she is “controlling” her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, amid their ongoing rift with his family.
The actress known for her role as “Lola” took to Instagram on Monday to post photos from her father Nelson Peltz’s 83rd birthday celebration. In the images, she can be seen alongside Beckham, her billionaire father, and other family members.
“Happy birthday, Dad! I feel incredibly fortunate to be your daughter. You are the most loving and supportive father I could ever wish for,” she wrote in the heartfelt caption.
“I love you more than words could ever convey. You are my inspiration and the source of my strength. Celebrating you yesterday was wonderful! Thank you for always being there for us, providing unwavering love and support 🩷✨🎂.”
Despite the joyous moment, several fans in the comment section accused her of “rubbing in” that Brooklyn had celebrated her dad’s birthday after skipping his father David Beckham’s star-studded 50th bash in May.
However, one Instagram user came to the “Transformers: Age of Extinction” star’s defense.
“The fact people are in this comment section talking bs about someone controlling a GROWN man is absurd,” the netizen wrote.
“The guy is an adult and can make his own decisions, leave them be and stop blaming women for everything.”
In response to that comment, Nicola simply “liked” it.
Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, have been involved in a feud with the photographer-turned-chef’s famous family over the last few months.
In April, Page Six reported that Brooklyn and his brother Romeo Beckham were not on speaking terms over the latter’s then-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.
Rumors surfaced that Romeo, 22, was dating the DJ years after she allegedly went out with Brooklyn.
However, sources told Page Six those allegations were “nonsense,” adding, “It’s just an excuse to find an argument.”
After the young couple decided to skip David’s birthday party in May, they added more fuel to the rumors of a rift between the relatives.
The following month, Romeo and Turnball called it quits after seven months of dating.
The London-based model then broke her silence, denying that she and Brooklyn were ever romantically involved.
“Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories on June 16.
While Brooklyn and the “Last Airbender” actress have continued to keep their distance from the Beckhams, his father, David, seemingly extended an olive branch online by tagging his and Victoria Beckham’s eldest child while celebrating his knighthood from King Charles III.
The former soccer pro also posted several sweet throwback pictures of Brooklyn and his other kids in honor of Father’s Day.
