ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and Gainesville Police Department have collaborated to form a county-wide Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

The mission of this Task Force is to enhance online safety and strengthen defenses against online exploitation, cyberbullying, and digital abuse through joint investigations and public awareness programs.

Sheriff Chad Scott revealed that he has appointed four detectives from the Gainesville Police Department as Deputy Sheriffs with his office to officially establish the Task Force. The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office stated: “By collaborating, we’re delivering a clear message: 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐣𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲.”
