Far-Left Commentator Thinks He Has the Answer to Getting Young Men to Vote for Democrats

As Democrats try various strategies hoping something will resonate, they appear to be exacerbating the challenges they face. Last November, they significantly lost support from several critical voting groups, including young men. Perhaps branding masculinity as toxic wasn’t the most appealing tactic. Now, a prominent far-left commentator believes he has a solution for a party struggling to define its identity—brace yourselves, because it’s quite unconventional.

A regular voice on far-left MSNBC, Ellie Mystal, recently proposed an idea in an article for “The Nation,” a website known for its progressive views. His suggestion for the Democrats to recover from their significant losses last November is unmistakably bold, as outlined in his piece titled, “Democrats Should Become the Pro-Porn Party.” Indeed, Mystal claims that winning back young male voters requires embracing the party’s historically liberal stance on sexual matters. He posits that support for porn should not be seen as “taboo,” framing it as an issue of free speech. In the 2024 election, Donald Trump secured a majority of the male vote, leaving Democrats still searching for a way to reconnect with these voters effectively—but with limited success.
