Lil Duval’s July 11 concert at Jacksonville’s VyStar Arena is canceled, with automatic refunds available.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Lil Duval’s Friday, July 11 concert at Jacksonville’s VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena has been canceled.
Both the arena’s website and the event’s page on Ticketmaster indicate the event’s cancellation. The ticket platform mentions, “unfortunately, the event organizer has had to cancel your event.”
The Lil Duval Day Concert was set to include performances by Bossman Dlow, Plies, Da Baby, Big Boogie, and Skilla Baby, with Jacksonville’s own Lil Duval serving as the host. Ticketmaster assures that automatic refunds will be issued to those who initially purchased the tickets.
However, a related Lil Duval Day celebration is still on the agenda for Saturday at Clanzel T. Brown Park. The event is described as a free, family-friendly festivity featuring live music, food, and celebrity appearances. “This day is for the city that raised me, for the kids growing up where I grew up, and for the community that continues to ride with me,” stated Lil Duval in a news release promoting the occasion.
Lil Duval grew up as Roland Powell on Jacksonville’s Northside, near Myrtle Avenue and Eighth Street. He said he was a funny guy in high school – he attended Raines, Ribault, First Coast and Jackson — but didn’t really understand how he could make a career of it.
He appeared on MTV’s “Guy Code” and “Hip-Hop Squares,” hosted MTV’s “Ain’t That America,” toured with Cedric the Entertainer and appeared in videos by T.I., Yung Joc, Young Jeezy and Ludacris. He starred in “The Contract” in 2024 and “Da ‘Partments” in 2023.
