DENVER (KDVR) Tucked away in an alley, inside a hotel that was once Denver’s old Cherry Creek Post Office, lies B&GC, a speakeasy that’s serving a gold-infused martini worth thousands.

It’s known as the Gilded Martini.

It’s made like any other martini with some exceptions. The bar uses gold-infused Monkey 47 and Belvedere 10, which utilizes a recipe from 1910. It’s also made with a house vermouth blend, olive oil, and comes with a 24-karat gold sheet garnish.

“It’s basically infused gin and the vodka with 24 karat gold,” said Volkan Olmez, the bar manager at B&GC, located inside the Halcyon Hotel.

There are also edible gold flakes inside the cocktail, but the speakeasy said the price tag comes from an included 14-karat yellow gold paperclip necklace with a solitaire diamond, worth about $5,000. The necklace comes with the martini in a lockbox and together they cost $2,500, total, at the speakeasy.

The idea for the pricey martini was hatched a few weeks ago, in partnership with Gnat Jewelry Atelier, another business in Cherry Creek. Right now, the martini is kept on display in a custom locked case that is, until its “next rightful owner claims it.”

The martini had yet to be ordered as of Wednesday. But the speakeasy said there has been some “buzz” around the custom cocktail. Once it’s ordered, they say there will be plans to make another one.

While quite expensive, B&GC’s new martini isn’t the first cocktail to make headlines with its high price tag. In 2024, Chicago bistro Adalina teamed up with a jewelry brand to debut a $13,000 mezcal martini which came with a 9-carat-weight diamond tennis bracelet in 14-carat gold, affiliate WGN reported.
