‘Most Haunted Places’ Investigator Dan Rivera Dies At 54 While Touring With Infamously Haunted Annabelle Doll

Dan Rivera, A paranormal investigator who was on tour with the infamously haunted Annabelle doll, has mysteriously passed away. He was 54.

During his Devils on the Run tour, which included a reportedly haunted doll, Rivera was at a hotel stop in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, when emergency services were summoned, as reported by the Evening Sun. The cause of his death remains unknown.

Rivera served as a leading paranormal investigator for the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), a group established by Ed and Lorraine Warren, whose work inspired The Conjuring films. Before her passing in 2019, Lorraine was among Rivera’s mentors at NESPR.

NESPR confirmed his passing with a statement online.

The post stated, “Dan truly believed in sharing his experiences and educating people on the paranormal. His kindness and passion touched everyone who knew him.”

Rivera had just completed a sold-out leg of the tour in Gettysburg before his passing. His previous work included starring in the Travel Channel’s Most Haunted Places and producing 28 Days Haunted.

The allegedly haunted doll – whose legends inspired the Annabelle movie series  Annabelle (2014), Annabelle: Creation (2017), and Annabelle Comes Home (2019) – has been linked to several tragic accidents across the United States, according to the Warrens.

Rivera recently quelled some panic online after conspiracy theorists claimed the doll had been lost. He shared a video on social media of Annabelle in the museum to shut down the “wild and crazy internet rumors” that she was missing.

“Some wild and crazy internet rumours this morning claiming that we lost Annabelle. She/it is NOT lost,” read the caption. He showed Annabelle the doll sitting in a wood box with a cross hanging above her.

Rivera is survived by his wife Sarah and their four children.
